District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Udalguri is a newly established state Government institute in Udalguri district situated in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) area. Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) is an autonomous division in assam. It is made up of five districts including Udalguri. It is located in Ambagaon, which is 9 KM towards west from District headquarters Udalguri

The District Institute of Education and Training (DIETs) were envisioned in the National Educational Policy of Education, 1986, and were created by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development in the early 1990s to strengthen elementary Education and support the decentralization of education to the district level.

Four DIETs i.e DIET Udalguri , DIET Chirang, DIET Baksa and DIET Kamrup (Metro) have been established in Assam recently. Among them three of them are located in BTR except DIET Kamrup( Metro).

District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Udalguri is a district level educational training institution for academic guidance of the schools at the grassroot level. It is going to be functioned very shortly for the benefit to a large section of people empowering them for the educational upliftment to lead a quality and meaningful life.

The main motto of the institution is to provide quality education and academic support to the elementary schools as well as resource support to the schools for the sustainable development of education and universalisation of elementary education. Its objective is also to impart education and training to all concerned officials in the district.

The institution is established for the greater interest of the society and the people of greater Udalguri. It is established not only for the holistic development of the elementary schools, but also for the secondary level schools. It covers three educational blocks, that are Udalguri, Mazbat and Khoirabari in the whole district. The institution will try to support the academic part of the schools engaging in different activities and solving the immediate problems of the schools as well as in research activities for the professional development of the faculties. Education is the process of facilitating learning or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits which are exhibited in the institution. Education is the first and formost right of every human being. The institute will try to make the individuals aware of their commitments, responsibilities, and obligations to society providing different training programmes.

Five faculties including principal i/c are appointed in the institution initially. Some necessary information is stated in the official site of the DIET for getting the updates and for further communication and coordination. As a founder Principal of this prestigious institute, I hope that this institute will carry forward and extend lots of academic achievements in the coming days.
